“Few fields are more obsessed with the idea of authenticity than the creative professions. There is a deliberate pursuit of authenticity – an attempt to recreate it, or somehow systematically harvest its force. Thus the race begins to manufacture this elusive energy for maximum output, often with monetary gains in mind.
Yet true authenticity, like most of the deeper workings of the universe, can not be commodified or contrived without a substantial loss of life energy in the process. In its most potent form, it is unadulterated, already there.”

The team’s task: to sabotage the Vemork plant in Telemark, seized by the Nazi’s to manufacture a key component in the atomic bomb; heavy water [D20]. Leaving no casualties, the team made their way from their cabin hideout and into the plant to destroy the entire inventory of heavy water produced during the German occupation. The operation, titled Operation Gunnerside was later evaluated by Special Operations Executive (SOE) as the most successful act of sabotage in all of World War II.
Operation Heim is a project initiated by Haavard Holmaas and Mads John Thomseth to highlight and re-interpret this event for the 75-year anniversary of the conclusion of WWII.
